Pioʻole Training Journal 1
Read, Reflect, and be ready to Discuss at the next practice (Nov27-28 weekend)
Core Covenant 1 – Be Aggressive
Sports should be played aggressively within the rules. Be the individual AND the team that is on the attack. Do not prepare or play cautiously or nervously. This requires having a plan to do the little things that will make the big things happen and following through on that plan.
This Mental Aggressiveness is as important as physical aggressiveness. Being mentally aggressive means approaching everything as a positive, looking forward to the inevitable challenges and meeting them; knowing that we will make mistakes, but being aware of our mistakes, making quick recovery from your own mistakes, and the mistakes of the team.
Finally, training your mind to focus on aggressively pursuing your TEAM’S goals, giving it your 100% in all aspects that YOU can control and contribute: grades, home/family responsibilities, personal training away from organized practice, personal health, and social choices, time management and being PRESENT when you are physically there with and for the team. Nothing more and nothing less.
